Stampin' Up Home Office

One of the first things we did in Salt Lake City was to visit the Stampin' Up! home office in Riverton, Utah.  It was amazing!!  This is a picture of a large piece of wall art made out of the new Stampin' Up! In-Colors and it was done using the quilling technique.  So impressive!

There was so much information about the history of SU! over the past 24 years.  It was fascinating to see the difference in the catalog from 1988 to the present.  Below is a picture I took...the top is the cover of the first catalog compared with the 2012-2013 cover.  So cool!  Hope the glare doesn't make it too hard to view.

Sample Boards

Another great thing about Convention (and Regionals...coming up at the end of August in Providence, RI for those of us on the East Coast) is getting to photograph the sample boards.  So many samples, so little time.  While some of the projects used retired product, there are still great ideas...people are so creative!

Stampin' Up! 2012 Convention Hightlights Continued

Convention 2012 was jammed packed with information.  The theme for this year, in case you haven't noticed, was I AM.  Hence the names of all the classes began with I am....  The theme song was so's been bopping around in my head since they introduced it on Thursday!  Check it out for yourself on the video bar at the bottom of my blog.

Here's a picture of Shelli Gardner speaking on the main stage at convention. So gracious and a fabulous speaker, you've got to just love her!

Now for more details about the classes...

"I am Starting Out" with Emily Montoya helped me better understand the structure of the Stampin' Up! Career Plan.  There are so many ways to earn money with SU!...but it's also okay to remain a hobbyist (like me) and support your own stamping addiction!

Donna Griffith hosted the "I am Savvy" presentation with presenters Dawn Griffith, Laura Milligan and Meg Wheeler.  These talented and successful demonstrators showed us innovative ways to use ribbon, fabric and kits to create WOW projects.  I was taking CRAZY notes!

My final class was "I am Having Fun"  ~ what better way to end my first convention experience!  Shannon West shared the science of smiling...some really neat stuff...and tips for making our events fun for everyone!  I'm still smiling :)

If this scheduling thing works for me, I'll be back with more posts later this week.  Keep your fingers crossed that I'm doing this!!

More Stampin' Up! Convention 2012

Thanks to my SU! Convention 2012 experience I just learned how to schedule a post...yay me!  I typed this post yesterday and scheduled it to post today.  (If I did it correctly, today should be Wednesday, July 25th.  I will be checking tomorrow morning to see if it!)

This picture was taken at the Salt Lake City Convention Center.  It is a huge place, this is only the tip of the iceberg of people in attendance!

COMING SOON... Stampin' Up! will be running an ad campaign in some pretty darned famous publications...Better Homes and Gardens, Family Fun and Parents! There will also be an online be on the lookout for those!

Jill Leigh led a talk show format about recruiting in "I Am a First Time Recruiter."  It was interesting to hear from Jocelyn Rhodes and Colleen Vassos about their experiences with recruiting Stampin' Up! Style!  Thanks, ladies!

Once again technology took the forefront in "I Am Open for Business" with Carrie Cudney.  She encouraged us to make new contacts and connections using...what media!  I guess I'll have to break down and join Facebook.  I'm already a Pinterest junkie, so that's a start!

Holly Linford...she's just too adorable...shared some pointers for using the new and improved My Digital Studio 2.  I can't wait to spend time playing with the new software and exclusive images.  I used MDS to create my Christmas cards last year, and the new changes are going to make creating easier and even more fun!

More to come about Convention 2012 in future posts.  (So proud of myself...I'm talking about future posts...maybe I really CAN get the hang of this blogging

Stampin' Up! Convention 2012

I just returned from Salt Lake City after having participated in my very first SU! Convention.  It was so much fun, and I got so many great new ideas from the presenters...all-in-all a worthwhile experience!  Check out the video bar at the bottom of my blog to see some highlights from Convention!

Brian Pillings shared ideas about leadership in his presentation "I Am a Leader"  I am really going to try to be more balanced in my approach and ask more questions to find out how I can better help my customers and downline.  Thanks, Brian!

In their presentation "I Am Doing Business My Way," Ronda Wade and Tami White - I follow Tami's blog was like seeing a celebrity...shared how they modify typical events to make them work for them.  So many great ideas...I can't wait to try them!  By the way, Bonnie Thurber (She's such a hoot!) emceed this presentation..."Go Bonnie!"

We heard so much about generation Y (25-35 year olds) and how to bring SU! products and opportunities to them.  Emily Montoya shared great tips for reaching out to this group in "I Am Reaching Out."  I have to improve on one of her blogging suggestions...POST CONSISTENTLY...those of you who visit occasionally may have noticed how inconsistent I am in this area.  Check back and see how I'm doing!  Hopefully you won't be!

I will be back with more posts about other great classes!  Thanks for stopping by.
